Is there a direct road from Kazakhstan to Armenia?
There is no direct border. The working plan is a Caspian ferry and then road through the Caucasus, with permits in the transit countries.
Routes
Oversized cargo from Kazakhstan to Armenia via the Caspian and the Caucasus. There is no direct land border.
The plan starts with the ferry from Aktau or Kuryk to Baku or Alat and continues by road through the Caucasus to the point in Armenia. The path after the ferry depends on the dimensions, mass and which sections will accept the combination. Permits are issued in each transit country.
Plant, steel, tanks and other oversized cargo that can take the ferry and the sections beyond. Volume cargo uses the road train of about 145 m³.
The 45 t, 5-axle lowbed and the 90 t, 10-axle lowbed take OOG and heavy cargo. The curtainsider road train of about 145 m³ is for volume cargo.
Turnkey: permits in each country on the route, a route survey, securing, and an escort when the dimensions or the country’s rule requires one.
