Belgian heavy-lift specialist Sarens plans to invest up to $56 million in an 82-hectare logistics and commercial hub near the Khorgos Kazakhstan–China border (The Astana Times, 15 June 2026). Phase one (~$10 million) is targeted to start operations by end-2026; most facilities by end-2027. The hub is designed for oversized renewable-energy cargo such as wind turbine blades. Last year Sarens moved 165 turbine sets through Khorgos for Samara, ACWA and Universal projects in Kazakhstan. A new border crossing near Nur Zholy is still in planning to ease multi-day truck queues.
