On 25 September 2026 at the Kazakhstan–China business forum in Almaty, Samruk-Energy signed an agreement with China Energy Overseas Investment and SANY Renewable Energy to build two 500 MW wind farms in Zhetysu Region, plus two energy storage systems (150 MW / 300 MWh each) and about 800 km of 500 kV lines to the Aktogay and Taldykorgan substations (Kursiv). Separately, Akmola Region agreed with SUNGROW on 450 MW of wind projects. Kazakhstan’s renewables share reached 7% in 2025; the government targets 15% by 2030. For oversized logistics this means future blade, tower and nacelle flows from China via Khorgos on low loaders.
