Middle Corridor: over 3 million tonnes in eight months and an Aktau hub

Middle Corridor (TITR) freight in January–August 2026 exceeded 3 million tonnes (+22% year on year). Design capacity of the corridor is about 6 million tonnes a year; in 2025 a little over 4 million tonnes were carried. Container traffic over the eight months rose 18%.
The first phase of the container hub at the port of Aktau, with a Chinese partner, is complete. Dredging (EBRD), berth upgrades and Kuryk infrastructure works are underway. The target is 10–12 days to the ports of Georgia and Turkey.
