KTZ: 9.3 million tonnes of grain in eight months (+13%)

In January–August 2026 rail carried 9.3 million tonnes of grain (+13% year on year): exports 7.2 million tonnes, domestic shipments 2.1 million tonnes. Central Asia +37%, China +34%, Afghanistan 655 thousand tonnes (up 4.4 times). Compound feed +38% to 2.6 million tonnes.

The fleet stands at 16.9 thousand grain hoppers and 17.8 thousand covered wagons. On the China direction, capacity has been brought to 75 trains a day after the second tracks on Dostyk–Moyynty and the upgrade of Altynkol–Zhetygen.
