In the first eight months of 2026, 1.3 million vehicles crossed Kazakhstan’s EAEU external road checkpoints — up 19.3% year on year, Inbusiness.kz reported citing the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance.
Growth is especially visible on the Kazakhstan–China border: traffic there rose 24.5%, while road transit from China through Kazakhstan jumped 56.1%. For trucks that need no extra checks, clearance time was cut from nine hours to 30 minutes; overall checkpoint capacity is 2.6× higher than in 2022.
On 28 September the committee discussed border throughput, the CarGoRuqsat e-queue and slot availability. For OOG and lowbed moves on the China–Kazakhstan leg, that means a predictable border window alongside permits and weighbridge control.
