From 12 October 2026, KTZ introduced temporary limits on grain loading via the Saryagash interstate junction under order No. 1933 of 11 October 2026. According to APK News, more than 10,000 wagons had piled up on approaches to the junction, including over 3,000 grain wagons, and more than 10 freight trains were held because the infrastructure could not accept them.

KTZ says Uzbekistan Railways can take no more than 400 grain wagons a day. From 12 to 31 October inclusive, daily loading caps apply: GPF-1 up to 190 wagons, GPF-2 up to 100, and GPF-12 plus GPF-15 together up to 10. Reconsignment of grain toward Saryagash is banned for the same period. Limits may be lifted early if congestion eases.

For forwarders on Kazakhstan – Uzbekistan, this means planning wagon supply and alternative junctions early: the southern corridor via Saryagash is under quotas, and the Darbaza – Maktaaral line is not yet open for working traffic.
