Transport of oversized equipment for a future gold concentrate processing plant has started in Pavlodar. The cargo is being moved from the river port to the Pavlodar Special Economic Zone in three stages, on 4, 6 and 8 October 2026. According to the SEZ, the first stage on 4 October went as planned, without incidents.

The project is being implemented by Ertis Hydrometallurgical Plant LLP. A key piece of process equipment was delivered to Pavlodar by water earlier: an autoclave about 50 metres long and weighing more than 1,000 tonnes, which left Antwerp and arrived by river via the Gulf of Ob and Omsk. The plant is designed to process up to 300,000 tonnes of gold-bearing concentrate a year using pressure oxidation and to produce up to 15 tonnes of doré alloy. Launch is planned for 2028, investment is $978 million, and about 500 jobs are expected.

For equipment of this kind, the key logistics elements are transshipment from river transport, route survey and approval, special permits for heavy and oversized vehicles, and a staged delivery schedule aligned with site readiness.
