From 1 December 2026, locomotive traction tariffs in Kazakhstan will rise by 23.5% for most cargoes, Tumah reported on 20 October citing KTZ Cargo. Ancillary service fees and charges for using freight wagons and containers change at the same time.

The basis is a reasoned opinion from the Committee for Regulation of Natural Monopolies and company order No. 131-GP of 21 September. The changes cover domestic and international (export-import) traffic. For oil, metals, coal, grain, ores, fertilisers, chemicals and building materials, electric and diesel traction coefficients are multiplied by 1.235; liquefied gas and socially significant foodstuffs are unchanged.

This is the second tariff decision in three months: from 21 September the main railway network tariff already rose by 24%. The notice names only domestic and export-import moves — transit is not mentioned separately. Shippers via Dostyk and Altynkol should request a recalculation under the new coefficients with a split between network and traction charges.

Gateway Logistics forwards cargo in wagons and containers and supplies container flatcars: Khorgos to Almaty, Astana and all regions of Kazakhstan; Khorgos/Altynkol and Dostyk–Alashankou into Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Iran and Turkmenistan.
