A consignment of polymer products from Almaty is moving via the Caspian and Georgia’s Poti; the end point is Veracruz on the Gulf of Mexico. KTZ’s press service reported this on 5 November 2026, according to Kursiv Media.

KTZ Express, KTZ’s international multimodal subsidiary, organised Almaty–Poti. Onward carriage toward Veracruz is by Maersk.

In June in Brussels KTZ Express and Maersk agreed to develop Trans-Caspian container flows; the deal sat in a four-agreement package totalling USD 462 million (Maersk’s share undisclosed). Kazakhstan’s Transport Ministry says January–September 2026 Trans-Caspian volume rose 30% year on year. In July KTZ earlier organised a first mineral-fertiliser shipment from Ekibastuz to Felixstowe via the Caspian and Poti/Batumi.

For rail forwarding and container lots this is an Almaty — Caspian — Poti — ocean chain example. Gateway Logistics supplies wagons, containers and container flatcars: Khorgos to Almaty, Astana and Kazakhstan regions; Khorgos/Altynkol and Dostyk–Alashankou into Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Iran and Turkmenistan.
