Samruk-Kazyna CEO Nurlan Zhakupov met AZCON leadership. Two documents were signed, Kazinform and AzerNews reported on 2 November 2026.

The first covers Samruk-Kazyna × AZCON cooperation on the new Trans-Caspian ferry system Caspian Bridge («Каспийский мост»). The second is a Term Sheet between KTZ and Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) on an intermodal cargo terminal and joint venture focused on container and other freight on the TITR / Middle Corridor. An earlier report had planned a joint terminal at the port of Alat.

Fleet context: on 15 October, during a CICA visit, documents were signed for two multipurpose dry cargo vessels for KTZ Express Shipping at Baku Shipyard. On 1 October, Kasym Tlepov said Kazakhstan expects 8 container vessels by 2028 — 4 in Baku and 4 in China.

For Gateway Logistics project cargo this strengthens the Caspian leg: industrial and energy equipment via Aktau/Kuryk and Alat, 45 t / 5-axle and 90 t / 10-axle lowbeds, and multimodal schemes China — Kazakhstan — Caspian — Azerbaijan — Georgia — Türkiye.
