152 t and 4.7 m: a super-heavy benchmark on Poti–Red Bridge
- OOG
- Georgia
- Poti
- heavy cargo
Early in 2026 Gianti Logistics moved six Wärtsilä gas engines from the Port of Poti (Georgia) to Kazakhstan. Each unit weighed 152 tonnes and exceeded 4.7 m in height. Per Mega Move Alliance this is claimed as the heaviest cargo ever moved on the Poti–Red Bridge corridor.
Before departure: 2D/3D simulations, method statements, a full bridge analysis along the route (allowable tonnage, trailer position on the span, speed limits, no simultaneous crossings). The super-heavy permit class was worked with Georgian road authorities in weekly technical sessions — a scale not previously executed in-country. At the port: controlled discharge onto hydraulic modules and a synchronised loading of 56 trucks.
This is someone else’s haul, not Gateway Logistics. For OOG practice in the Caucasus it is a useful benchmark: without bridge engineering and a permit that matches the gauge, even a strong lowbed does not roll. Height at 4.7 m cuts overpasses before mass cuts axles. Planning Georgia → border → Caspian / Kazakhstan, build in bridge survey and special-permit lead time — before you lock a ferry date.
