FESCO Transport Group has expanded its FESCO Caravan Shuttle rail container service from China to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan by adding departures from Urumqi, the company said on 13 October 2026.

Since late August, four container trains have run on the new route to Chukursay station in Tashkent and Burundai station near Almaty. The trains crossed at Khorgos – Altynkol, with an average transit time of nine days. Departures from Urumqi will continue on a regular basis, at least one container train a month.

FESCO Caravan Shuttle launched in July 2026 via the Dostyk and Altynkol border crossings; the first departures were from Xi'an, and the service also runs from Chengdu. Maxim Bukhanov, CEO of FESCO Central Asia, said Urumqi gives shippers additional delivery options from western China. For forwarders, it is one more regular container service via Khorgos to southern Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
