Transport Group FESCO and Kazakhstan’s TLC Zhetysu agreed to cooperate on container cargo handling at the Zhetysu terminals in Almaty and Dostyk on the China border, FESCO’s press service reported on 15 October 2026. The letter of intent was signed at TransLogistica Kazakhstan in Astana by Maxim Bukhanov, CEO of FESCO Central Asia, and Kuat Sultanbay, commercial director of TLC Zhetysu.
FESCO plans to use the partner’s sites to handle container trains arriving in Kazakhstan from China via land border crossings and from the Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port (VMTP). On TLC Zhetysu infrastructure the Group will also form and dispatch container trains with export cargo from Kazakhstan.
TLC Zhetysu operates infrastructure at the Dostyk border station and the Zhetysu terminal in Almaty with a total area of 220,000 m².
For Gateway Logistics this strengthens the container and wagon corridor at the eastern crossings: forwarding wagons, containers and fitting platforms via Khorgos / Altynkol and Dostyk–Alashankou, routes to Almaty, Astana and Kazakhstan’s regions, and onward to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Iran and Turkmenistan.
