On 15 October 2026, during Kazakhstan Transport Week, the first pilot international road haul using an electronic e-CMR consignment note is planned on the Kazakhstan – Russia route. The Eurasian Economic Commission reported this after a working-group meeting chaired by Rustan Dzhenalinov, Director of the EEC Department of Transport and Infrastructure; DKNews confirmed the date on 12 October.
During the technical stage, the pilot linked electronic document operators and foreign digital-signature verification operators, established a cross-border trust space, and digitised e-CMR drafting and signing. The next step is to test the document on a live haul. Results are due to the EEC Council in December 2026.
For oversized and heavy-haul road carriers, an electronic consignment note shortens paper handling at EAEU borders. This remains a pilot, not a mandatory switch for every trip.
