COSCO Shipping Logistics has completed logistics for a 1,600 MW combined-cycle power plant in Uzbekistan (named "Sukandaya" in Chinese sources; EPC contractor SEPCO III, Shandong Electric Power Construction No.3). The last two generator units of about 381 t reached the site. Shipping-daily and COSCO Shipping Logistics reported this on 14 October 2026.
Since 28 March 2026, when the first gas turbine left Hamburg, the team handled 409 shipments and 2,133 truck trips. The cargo included two 414 t gas turbines, three 380 t generators, three 330 t transformers and 48 HRSG modules of about 200 t — 111 pieces over 50 t and more than 170,000 m³ of project materials. According to COSCO, the plant will be Uzbekistan's largest gas-fired station, generating about 12 billion kWh a year.
The main flow from China ran via Khorgos and Wuqia (Xinjiang) — more than 140,000 m³. European equipment shipped from Hamburg and Rotterdam, was transloaded in Turkey, crossed the Caspian and moved through Kazakhstan by road. The HRSG modules used 624 axle lines in China and 752 abroad, with convoys covering 6,450 km; the 414 t turbines were delivered in five legs over 194 days.
For Gateway Logistics this is a benchmark for Central Asian power projects: 45 t / 5-axle and 90 t / 10-axle lowbeds, route surveys and permits on the China–Kazakhstan–Uzbekistan corridor and across the Caspian.
