Kuryk: PPM-1 and PPM-2 bridges cut the ferry cycle

In August 2026 Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport reported that the PPM-1 and PPM-2 loading bridges at the Caspian port of Kuryk had been modernised. That is ferry-complex infrastructure on the Trans-Caspian route (TITR / Middle Corridor). It is not a Gateway Logistics build and not someone else’s EPC.

The ministry’s published figures: rail-ferry processing fell from 18 hours to 12, vehicle ferries from 10 to 6. Rail-ferry capacity rose from 40 wagons to 48. In the first half of 2026 the port handled 884,800 t — 475,500 t by rail and 306,200 t by road.

For OOG the useful number is not grain or box tonnage. It is the ramp, the axle load and the slot queue. A shorter processing cycle means a lowboy or tandem spends less time in port — if the ferry and the permits are already lined up. The bridge does not lift a height cap, a bridge on the approach, or the last mile into site.

We do not claim the PPM reconstruction and we do not dress someone else’s contract up as our haul. This is an industry fact about a port used in a road-plus-ferry scheme.

Public industry facts. Not a claim to be the contractor, and not a list of completed jobs.
